Onten eu cheguei do trabalho, liguei a tv e peguei o finalzinho de uma noticia que falava sobre uma canadense que deu a luz a sêxtuplos.
Entrei na net e descobri que a canadense era uma Tj! Tentei buscar algo em portugues para postar aqui e nao achei quase nada, so dois links..fiz a busca em ingles e apareceu varias paginas.
Esse assunto e novidade para mim e talves ja tenha sido postado aqui antes, mas por causa de tao pouca informacao na imprensa Brasileira decidi traze-lo a tona:
Resumindo e o seguinte: Uma mulher canadense tj deu a luz a sêxtuplos.
algumas das criancas precisavam de transfusoe imediata, pois corria o risco de morrer apos o parto.
E os pais tj ( que se mantem anonimos)disse que nao aceitaria transfusoes nos bebes. ( nao sei se essa e a ordem dos fatos) mas um dos bebes morreu, e depois os medicos fizeram transfusao em 3 dos bebes,pois o estado do canada, que apoia a liberdade de religiao, mas defende ate a morte que toda e qualquer crianca deve ter o tratamento necessario,entou na justica e tomou a tutela dos 3 bebes ( que precisava de transfusao imediata, apos a morte do primeiro) e fizeram a transfusao .
( segundo o video do youtube que postei) contra o consentimento dos pais.
Inclusive o pai chega a chamar, de violacao/estupro esse ato dos medicos.
enfim, nao li todas os links, mas essa materia e de 2007 alguem conhece algo sobre isso? Que diabo de religiao e essa??

Mulher canadense dá à luz sêxtuplos
Uma mulher de Vancouver, a metrópole mais ocidental do Canadá, deu à luz sêxtuplos no fim de semana, noticiou nesta segunda-feira um jornal local.
Os bebês "são muito pequenos, mas os seis estão vivos", declarou uma fonte não identificada ao jornal The Province.
Autoridades sanitárias não confirmaram, nem negaram a informação, citando uma lei canadense que protege a privacidade dos pacientes.
Mas segundo o jornal canadense, os recém-nascidos são prematuros de seis meses e meio. O primeiro bebê veio ao mundo naturalmente, sem qualquer complicação, e a mãe depois foi submetida a uma cesariana para dar à luz os seis irmãos.
Cada bebê nasceu pesando cerca de 800 gramas, acrescentou o jornal. Eles estão na unidade de cuidados intensivos de um hospital da região de Vancouver, mas a probabilidade é de que sobrevivam, continuou o The Province.
Acredita-se que este seja o primeiro nascimento de sêxtuplos do Canadá. Em 1934, nasceram quíntuplas na província de Ontário. As "quíntuplas Dionne", como foram apelidadas, foram separadas da mãe pelas autoridades médicas, que as expunham ao público mediante o pagamento prévio de um bilhete. Elas acabaram se tornando a maior atração do Canadá na época, chegando a atrair três milhões de turistas, segundo a Enciclopédia canadense.
Suas vidas também inspiraram três filmes de Hollywood e uma minissérie de TV canadense.

Morre um dos sêxtuplos nascidos no Canadá
OTTAWA, 16 jan (AFP) - Um dos sêxtuplos nascidos na semana passada em Vancouver, oeste do Canadá, morreu, informaram meios canadenses nesta terça-feira.
Uma rádio local de Vancouver, a CKNW, anunciou que um dos bebês morreu no fim da semana passada, o que não foi confirmado pela maternidade onde nasceram as crianças, alegando não ter autorização dos pais para isto.
Os pais, que são testemunhas de Jeová, segundo a imprensa local, pediram a maior discrição sobre o caso e para ter sua identidade preservada.
Os bebês, quatro meninos e duas meninas, nasceram após 25 semanas de gestação, pesando apenas 800 gramas cada um.
A maternidade confirmou o nascimento em 8 de janeiro, informando que os seis bebês tinham boas chances de sobreviver. Os pequenos prematuros estão em incubadoras e respiram com a ajuda de aparelhos.

Ottawa — Canada's first sextuplets, born more than a week ago, are facing an additional complication to the usual premature baby's struggle for survival: Their parents' religion forbids blood transfusions, a typical part of a preemie's treatment.
The babies' condition remains a mystery, and the hospital refuses to confirm reports that one infant has died.
The six babies were born Jan. 5 and 6 in Vancouver, British Columbia, to parents who are Jehovah's Witnesses. Delivered at 25 weeks, more than halfway through the typical 40-week pregnancy, the four boys and two girls averaged 1.6 pounds and can rest in the palm of an average man's hand. The survival rate for such births is about 80%.
The parents have asked to remain anonymous, and the hospital has not provided information since shortly after the births, when a spokesman reported that the babies were in fair condition.
On Tuesday, hospital officials would not comment on a media report citing sources in the hospital that one of the boys had died.
"The family asks that their privacy be respected," said a spokeswoman for B.C. Women's Hospital in Vancouver. "They haven't provided instructions for releasing a statement."
The news of Canada's first sextuplets and the role of the parents' religion in their children's chances for survival have riveted a nation that prides itself on tolerance.
The infants face months in intensive care as their nascent organs, muscles and immunities develop enough for them to live on their own. Blood transfusions are a typical part of a preemie's treatment, experts say, because of their low blood volume and vulnerability to anemia. They also must have their blood drawn repeatedly for tests.
Although Jehovah's Witnesses can receive almost any medical intervention, including fertility treatments, organ transplants and vaccinations, the religion's interpretation of the Bible prohibits blood transfusions.
A passage in the Bible cited as the basis for the prohibition is from Leviticus: "And you must not eat any blood in any places where you dwell, whether that of fowl or that of beast. Any soul who eats any blood, that soul must be cut off from his people."
The prohibition probably was meant to prevent the contamination of water supplies, wrote religious scholar Michael Duggan of St. Mary's University College in Calgary, Alberta. But the religion, which uses 1st century Christianity as its model, has interpreted it literally to forbid the "consumption" or spilling of blood.
Mark Ruge, spokesman for the Jehovah's Witnesses in Canada, said, "It mentions in the Bible to abstain from blood, and so we follow that. We want the best for the children, but without blood."

Canada's child protection laws ensure that babies get the medical treatment necessary to keep them alive, even if it takes a court order.
A 1995 decision by Canada's Supreme Court in a similar case of a premature baby born to a Jehovah's Witnesses couple concluded that the infant's medical interests trumped the parents' religious rights.
Neither Vancouver's Child Welfare Department nor the hospital have applied for a court order, a provincial court official said.
Even if they don't have a choice, the parents face a conundrum. If they accept blood transfusions to save the babies' lives, it could cut them off from their religious community at a time when they needed its support.
When Lawrence Hughes, 56, was a Jehovah's Witness, he faced a similar problem. In 2002, his 16-year-old daughter, Bethany, needed blood transfusions as part of her treatment for leukemia. His wife, daughter and the Jehovah's Witnesses community in Calgary opposed the transfusions. After much struggle, he signed the consent forms, and was cut off from his family and congregation.
Jehovah's Witnesses typically live and pray together and discourage association with people outside the congregation.
"I was completely isolated," Hughes said.
After Bethany had 38 transfusions, her mother took her into hiding, and the girl eventually died. Hughes is suing the Jehovah's Witnesses, claiming the lawyers who fought the forced treatments did not act in his daughter's best interests.
"I knew that once I signed the consent form, that was it. I knew I'd lose my family, my friends and my faith," he said. "I did it to try to save my daughter, but I lost her too."
Hughes, who works at an architectural firm in Calgary, has joined with other former Jehovah's Witnesses and dissenters in the church to seek a change in policy regarding blood transfusions. In recent years, the religion has allowed patients to receive what it calls "fractions," or components of blood, but not whole blood.
The prohibition presents a problem for doctors as well, said Juliet Guichon, a medical bioethicist at the University of Calgary.
"The consequences of refusing blood in certain situations are fatal," Guichon said in a telephone interview. "There must be something to make people choose that. If it's coercion or fear, the physician must be aware of that."

At birth, the babies weighed less than two pounds (1kg) each, and measured less than an outstretched adult hand. They were put into incubators but within a week two had died. Doctors told the parents that the surviving infants desperately needed blood transfusions if they were to survive, but once again the parents refused.
The babies’ parents, still unnamed, it now emerged, were Jehovah’s Witnesses. Beyond evangelising, Jehovah’s Witnesses are commonly known for one other thing: their fervent opposition to blood transfusions. In their faith, it is nothing less than akin to rape.
The belief is based on the Witnesses’ interpretation of several verses in Genesis, Leviticus and Acts that forbid Christians from ingesting blood.
Unable to persuade the parents to allow the procedure, the hospital in Vancouver applied to the British Columbia government to take the surviving babies into protective custody so that the transfusions could be administered. The authorities complied and custody of the three most sickly infants was transferred to the state.
The parents, while grieving over the loss of two of their children, were livid with the authorities for removing what they saw as their parental rights. They applied for a court order to return the babies to their care. But in the meantime two of the babies in custody were given transfusions — to save their lives, their doctors say.
In his affidavit to the court, the children’s father argued that their rights had been trampled on and demanded that the children be returned to their care.
He added that he and his wife had been forced to leave the hospital while the transfusions were taking place, unable to bear seeing doctors “violating our little girl”.

But, as their lawyer showed up to appeal against the custody order, the court suddenly reversed its decision and handed the babies back. That was three weeks ago but still almost nothing more is known about the babies’ condition other than that they are “progressing”.
The parents may again have custody but they are now preparing to take the provincial government to court over their failure to let them put evidence to a court before allowing the transfusions to proceed. Yesterday the supreme court of British Columbia postponed the hearing until April so that lawyers could study a weight of documentary evidence.
Legal experts expect the government to argue that the babies’ lives were in immediate danger and they had no option but to act immediately.
The case has shocked largely secular Canada, a country not famed for religious extremism. Representatives of the Jehovah’s Witnesses have urged the public and media not to make “stereotypical assumptions” about their faith based on the case.
Canada’s constitution enshrines the right to freedom of religion. But prominent ethicists argue that this cannot apply to children too young to hold beliefs, never mind to express them.
“While the parents are at liberty to make martyrs of themselves, their children are not,” Eike-Henner Kluge, a bioethi-cist at the University of Victoria told the Globe and Mail.
The hearing in April will decide on the legal matter of whether the parents were denied their moment in court and not on their religious rights. Whatever the outcome, the life-saving transfusions cannot now be reversed.

É foda... se a pessoa é adulta e não quer tomar sangue, até dá pra entender, se ela prefere correr o risco de morrer, fodas o dela... mas e as crianças? e os bebês? Conforme dito acima, eles nasceram na verdade? Eles tiveram escolha?
E depois criticam as religiões que batizam bebês!!!!!!!!!
Desrespeito total à vida.
E na reportagem fala que os pais queriam levar o hospital à justiça?? Eles tinham é que ser presos, isso sim, por impedir tratamento médico adequado aos seus próprios filhos!
Nem gosto de falar muito nesse assunto que me dá nos nervos... ai!

Não. Os pais não seriam desassociados. A não ser que se julgue que eles não fizeram "esforços razoáveis" para cooperar e para evitar que o fato tivesse ocorrido. Já sabe o problema que são os "esforços razoáveis", né? Ninguém nunca sabe o que isso quer dizer exatamente.
